Big favorites or dark horses?
England are coming home for their next major challenge as they host Denmark in the Euro 2020 semi-finals. With last week’s victory against Ukraine in Rome we saw the Three Lions make the last four. While Denmark have overcome a near tragedy following Christian Eriksen’s on-pitch collapse to sail into the semi-finals with little trouble.
They will meet at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday the 7th of July. So, this time can Denmark stun Wembley and continue the fairytale? Or can England keep going on their charge to the final? Tell us your prediction and you could be in with a chance of winning some Olight goodies!!
Big favorites---The Three Lions
The Three Lions will be brimming with confidence as they return to Wembley off the back of their biggest victory at the EURO’s so far! The 4-0 success against Ukraine was their first four goal haul in the knockout stages of any major tournament since the 1966 FIFA World Cup final. Gareth Southgate's side are also the first team to keep five consecutive clean sheets at the start of a EURO finals campaign, so it is clear England are in good shape at both ends of the pitch.
Denmark’s fairytale
After the anguish of Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest in their opening fixture the Danes have performed superbly in the Euro 2020 knockouts, beating Wales 4-0 in the round of 16 and the Czech Republic 2-1 in the quarterfinals. They booked their place in the Euro 2020 semi-finals as goals from Thomas Delaney and Kasper Dolberg were enough to see the Danes into the last four.
Denmark have scored in every game since that awful opening-night encounter with Finland. Their tally of 11 is already a national EURO record, but they are about to come up against an England side that have not conceded a single goal during this tournament. Getting to the final will involve breaking down that defence.
